Dec 02, 2010 In honor of the start of December and winter, here is The Flying Kipper. This is my favorite episode because it has good cinematography. I have done my best to recreate that here for you. The world of Thomas Trainz certainly has come a long way since I started a few years ago, as have my skills as a video editor. Rules and Notes
Reskinning is allowed so long as you give credit where it's due, although if you'd like to release your reskin then you can ask for permission at max31champion@aol.com. Some models aren't apt for reskinning (most of my earlier models use 3D lining), so you're probably better off sticking to later models (2015 onwards) when it comes to reskinning.
Note: Trainz 2019 compatibility is not guaranteed. Releases from before August 2016 are not fully compatible with T:ANE onwards (They are usable, but the smoke is displayed incorrectly).
Note: some newer locos have 3D running numbers that cannot be changed by reskinning. If you need a particular running number for a loco, drop me a line at max31champion@aol.com (or PM me on YouTube, Deviantart or Twitter) and I may be able to give the engine a new number, given that I still have the right files.
Real Locomotives
GWR Class 850 0-6-0ST/PT
The 850 class was the GWR equivalent of the LBSCR Terriers, and were present on the network for over eighty years. After over five years I've created a brand new model of this loco, in both saddle tank and pannier tank varieties.
Metropolitan Peckett X Class 0-6-0ST
The Metropolitan Railway ordered two Peckett locos in 1897 for goods and shunting work. Numbered 101 and 102, they lasted until the early 1960s. This pack contains the locos in both Metropolitan and London Transport liveries.
WD 2-10-0
The WD 2-10-0s were a development of the 2-8-0, and were mostly exported overseas. Their advantages included a wider firebox to steam better on low quality coal, and a larger surface area to distribute the weight. This pack contains five variants of the engine and tender in different liveries and conditions.
LNER J83 0-6-0T
Originally designated class D, these engines were designed by Matthew Holmes on the NBR. They were rebuilt shortly after becoming LNER property and remained in service until the late fifties and early sixties. This pack contains most of the liveries the engine would have worn in service.
Corby Steelworks 0-6-0ST
These locomotives were built by Hawthorn Leslie and Co. for the Stewarts and Lloyds steelworks between 1919 and 1941 with some examples converted to oil-firing from 1960 onwards. This pack contains an oil-fired loco and the coal-fired Number 21 in both yellow and blue (preserved) liveries.
LT&SR 79 4-4-2T
The Class 79 was the final development of the London Tilbury and Southend Railway's 4-4-2T design, and were essentially new-builds of the 'Rebuilt 37' class. They became Midland railway property in 1912 and the LMS produced more engines to the same design during 1923-30. They were displaced from their original duties in the 1930s and worked in the Midlands until the 1950s-1960s when all but one were scrapped.
LSWR H16 4-6-2T
The H16s were built in 1921 for shunting at Feltham marshalling yard and were Robert Urie's last design. They served this purpose along with the similar G16 4-8-0Ts and the Maunsell 'Z' class until withdrawal in 1962.
LNWR 5ft 6in 2-4-2T
These 2-4-2Ts were built to the design of Sir Francis Webb in the 1890s. Despite some being withdrawn as early as 1921, the class lived a long life- especially after many examples were motor-fitted in the 1920s and 1930s- with the last being withdrawn in 1955.
LNER A8 4-6-2T
The A8's were Gresley's redesign of the Raven H1 4-4-4T after it was proven that six coupled wheels produced greater tractive effort than four. The A8s lasted well into nationalisation, with the class being withdrawn between 1957 and 1960.
GER/LNER/BR Class N7 0-6-2T
The N7's were A. J. Hill's answer to the GER's London commuter service workloads. They displaced old 0-6-0T and 2-4-2T types and they were so successful that more continued to be built after the GER was absorbed into the LNER, with various sub-classes existing. All were withdrawn by 1962, but No. 69621 was preserved. This model comes in GER, LNER and BR colours.

Caledonian Railway Cardean 4-6-0
The Cardeans were a class of five designed by John F. McIntosh. They were used for the top-link expresses on the Caledonian railway until they were scrapped during the 1920s-30s. This Cdp comes with three versions representing all five of the class.
SR Class E1R 0-6-2T
The E1Rs were Richard Maunsell's rebuilds of the LBSCR Stroudley E1 tanks, of which there were ten. This model represents four of the class through number submeshes. Southern and BR liveries are included, the BR version having livery scripting to switch between different paint schemes.
LNWR Claughton 4-6-0
The Claughtons were built to the design of Charles Bowen-Cooke. This model represents four members of the class as three different models- the Early LMS version contains livery scripting to switch between red and black.
The engines' configs have now been assigned to a different whistle sound, which is easier to locate.
The tender has now been updated to display the lamps correctly.

LNWR Precursor 4-4-0
The Whale Precursors, were, in effect, a much larger version of Francis Webb's Precedent class. This model represents four members of the class in three different liveries.
LNWR Precursor Tank 4-4-2T
The Precursor tank was a tank engine version of George Whale's Precursor class, which survived until 1940. This pack contains the engine in three different liveries- LNWR, Early LMS and Late LMS.
K&ESR No. 2 Northiam/Gladstone
This engine was one of the original locos on the Kent and East Sussex Railway and achieved its claim to fame in 1937 when it appeared as 'Gladstone' in the film 'Oh Mr. Porter!'
Currently Unavailable- can still be downloaded through the Download Station or UKTrainsim.
NSR B Class 2-4-0T
The B class was built for branch line passenger service on the North Staffordshire Railway. The loco survived into LMS ownership, but not for much longer. This model comes with changeable number submeshes.
Currently Unavailable- Can still be downloaded via the Download Station or UKTrainsim.
GWR Class 517 0-4-2T
The Armstrong 517 was built in the 1860s and was rebuilt a number of times. Oringinally built as saddletanks, most rebuilds involved side tanks instead. This model is the 'Wolverhampton' rebuild, with the un-swindon-like bunker and a tall funnel. This model comes with changeable number submeshes.
LNWR/LMS/BR Coal Tank 0-6-2T
The coal tanks were designed by Francis Webb in the 1880s as a tank engine version of his standard coal engine. This pack contains the loco in four liveries.
Midland/LMS/BR/SDJR Johnson 0-4-4T
Samuel Johnson introduced this class in the late 19th century to replace ageing Kirtley locomotives of the same wheel arrangement. Being a Midland design, the class was able to survive during the days of the LMS, but by the time nationalisation rolled along, only 8 remained, the final being scrapped in 1954. This pack contains 4 different liveries representative of 4 different companies.
GWR/BR 850 0-6-0ST
The 850 class loco debuted way back in 1874- before the GWR had fully been converted to standard gauge. The class went through several different rebuilds, and the last examples lasted until 1958. This pack contains two of variants of the saddle tank: GWR green and BR black.
Currently Unavailable- Can still be obtained via the Download Station or UKTrainsim, and an updated version is on the waiting list.
LNER Class J50 0-6-0T
The J50 originated on the Great Northern Railway where it was classified J23. After the grouping, a number were built and rebuilt with larger boilers and were known as the J50 (The unrebuilt examples were called the J51). This pack contains two J50s, one in LNER Green and another in LNER black.
LNER Class J83 0-6-0T
The J83 0-6-0T was originally the NBR Class D. They were mostly used for shunting and branchline work. They lasted up until 1962 but sadly none were preserved. This model depicts the loco in LNER black, which the majority of the class sported.
Currently Unavailable- can still be downloaded via UKTrainsim, but an updated version is hoped to be available in the future.
Ontrack easyrecovery professional 10 full version free crack. Midland/LMS 'Flatiron' 0-6-4T
This is the Midland Railway 'Flatiron' design that was introduced in 1907 and lasted until 1938. Mediafire is behaving itself now!
LMS 3F 'Jinty' in 1923 livery
Here is the LMS 3F Jinty in the early livery used for goods and shunting locos on the LMS from 1923 to 1928. This model comes with scripted headcodes, meaning that you can change the arrangement of the headlamps to denote the type of train being pulled. This model will not overwrite the un-baked Jinty in BR livery.
GWR 455 'Small Metro' 2-4-0T
The 'Small Metros' were built at Swindon works to a design by Joseph Armstrong. Rebuilt during the late 19th century, they were nicknamed 'Metros' or 'Metropolitans' due to a number of them working on the underground sections of the Metropolitan Railway.
Midland Railway Johnson 1F
Affectionately nicknamed 'Half Cabs' Johnson's 1377 class originated in 1878 and witnessed both the grouping (Where the LMS classified it under '1F') and nationalisation. Several survived into the 1960s when the class was almost 90 years old.
Fowler 3F 'Jinty' 0-6-0T (Late Crest)
Johnson designed the '2441' class in 1899, which Henry Fowler rebuilt with belpaire fireboxes and improved cabs. This became the basis for his 3F loco class when he became CME of the LMS. The 'Jinties' became successful enough to last up until 1967 with many examples being preserved.
